This depends on whether you have long legs or short legs! People with longer legs tend to fit in a little more comfortably - the seat can be moved forward and tilted back. We have also removed the adjustment rails on a seat before for a particularly tall customer - this added another inch or so to the headroom (but meant the seat was not adjustable). Also a hard top will give another inch of headroom, but this may not be a satisfactory solution.

In any case it is always best if you try a car out first to see whether you can fit in! The Rover MGF sports car (a close competitor of the MX5) is hopelessly cramped when it comes to tall people.
