One of our customers brought the courtesy car back (red 1.6 mk1 auto) reporting that (through no fault of his own) it was making a weird noise and indeed it was, it sounded like someone banging a tin bath with cricket bat. We only just got to look at it yesterday...
...and found that one of the rods had broken:
