Here at Dandycars.com we try to cater for every taste in MX5s and this includes the auto gearbox models! Despite around 30-40% of our stock being autos, Mazda UK have always neglected this market niche and only produced a small amount of official UK automatics some time in 2001, most of these were produced without air con and other goodies that the japanese spec cars came with.
Ever since the MX5 started production in Japan in 1989 the automatic version has been manufactured but not sold in the UK. Given the increasing number of 'Automatic Only' drivers licences being issued we are finding more and more demand for this type of car. This includes the new Mark 3 and the incredible 6 speed gearbox model available via us, from Japan. Despite a certain other Mazda dealer in the UK claiming to be the only stockist of the automatic Mark 3 we were actually the first company in the UK to obtain type approval (model report) for this car. We are also substantially cheaper than them! So if you're interested check the stocklist and if what you're after isn't on there, we can get it for you.

My wife has an automatic v special and we love it! The gearleaver looked a bit big! so I customised it myself using a normal wood/chrome gear knob and tan gaiter. I fitted a new "hold" button into the new knob and it looks just like a manual.
